Team V Swansea
|
Adrian Byram Fonte Collins Arthur Noble Kouyate Ayew Lanzini Antonio Carroll
If Antonio is not fit then start Sakho wide right and move Ayew to the left.

defence-- agreed, time Fernandez got a start and Kouyate better than Fonte. Sakho for AC if the latter is unfit.

Agree with vexed, it doesn't really matter who plays, none of them look up for it despite what they keep saying. How the hell does a team play such great football last year and be so fucking awful this year! Having said that we've been here many times before and if we can somehow get a lucky couple of results it can turn round quickly but it needs to happen on Saturday

I think we have to go with a back three with Kouyate in there. A Collins/Fonte pairing just has no pace, we need the extra man.
Plus we can at least try to compete in midfield them and break up their play.

Lets face it, it doesn't matter who Slav puts out, nobody want to play for him. Park the bus, respect the point etc. It's that or lose. Pathetic really.

Our problem is we are too slow in transition from back to front. Also Carroll on his own up front with no support
When Sakho and the Everton striker were upfront we had pace and pressured from the front . Now we sit back and wait for them to arrive at our penalty box .

I'm not sure what Brown has done to deserve being dropped.

If Carroll is fit he HAS to play against Swansea. They have never been able to handle him.

The lack of balance. quality and depth within the squad, that many of us pointed out as early as last July, is now coming home to roost. Bilic clearly hasn't a fucking baldy what to do next and I'm not seeing any leaders among his coaching staff. Now if we had a Bonds or a Brooking or a Martin in the team then maybe someone on the pitch could provide leadership but I'm not seeing it anywhere. That said a win on Saturday and we are almost over the line, deserved or otherwise. One thing this season has proved there is no doing things on the cheap in this league

Agree with that. Exposes the lack of options and quality but we are crying out for pace, stamina , legs in midfield. Ayew is the one I have no time for. Not starting anyway. Fernandes deserves a start IMO. He can do more in that midfield which is a root cause of a lot of problems. A lack of goal scorers is the other one. Like I say, few options so we have to go with the most compact we can be. He wont do this btw as Bilic is now in full "deer in the headlights" mode and paralysed with a combination of fear and lack of ideas.
Essentially a 5 man midfield with Lanzini and Antonio breaking when possible. Shame Sakho aint fit and will not be until the last few games of the season. Been out too long to come back quick.
Of course everything will probablygo pear shaped when we learn both Carroll and / or Antonio are crocked for Sat

---------------Adrian ------Kouyate Fonte Collins Byram -----------------------Arthur -----------Noble--Fernandes --Antonio--------------------Lanzini --------------Fletcher
I'm assuming Carroll's groin will keep him out, and on the evidence yesterday, no chance for Sakho to go the distance. Bring him on at 45. Fletcher at least has pace to run at their defenders and tire them a bit. 3 at the back should give Arthur and Byram license to get forward at will.

Sakho in for Carroll if he is not fit.

Adrian Fonte Kouyate Collins Byram Noble Lanzini Fernandes Masuako Antonio Carroll
For sure I am wrong, but I think we have won more games at the Olympic Stadium with this, 3 at the back and wing backs in midfield. So I would try it again.
Why are people putting Antonio on the left, he prefers the right and Ayew on the right, he prefers the left, no???

Collins, Lanzini, Fernandes. Antonio. Koutaye. Any others are just plugging gaps until we overhaul the squad.

I would go with the team of AOI and others which puts Kouyate at the back and brings in Sakho. I really hope that Antonio is fit to start too. We have massively missed the likes of Reid, Obiang and Antonio to the extent that had they all been playing we would be safe right now from relegation.

I'd like to drop Ayew but the only other option is Snodgrass.
